London 1938 Tube Stock - three cars, 2,827 parts The deep-level tube train that worked the Bakerloo and Northern for half a century. Two driving motor cars with a trailer between them, 175 studs long. Round tube profile with the flat-sided lower body it actually had. Sixteen doorways with working sliding doors on a prompt and a station mode that holds the lot open. A platform is built in and saves with the train. Inside: 80 seats in moquette, a hundred hanging straps on ceiling rails, grab poles, draught screens beside the doorways, advert cards above the windows, twenty-six lamps. Every window is a real opening. The cab ends are built out - Wedgelock coupler, electrical head, buffing pads, emergency end door. Jumper cables and a concertina gangway between cars. Underneath: collector shoes and insulators for the four-rail supply, coil springs, axleboxes. No solid modelling. Anchored, ready to save as a model.
