Canadian Line Materials (CLM) Type 5263 "Mailbox" air raid siren. 5 Horsepower 220V, 3PH Model based on the Spruce Grove, Alberta CLM Type 5263 siren. Manufactured in Scarboro(ugh), Ontario, Canadian Line Materials manufactured air raid sirens starting in the 1950s for the Canadian government. The sirens would be activated from Ottawa, Ontario to trigger all the air raid sirens in provinces across Canada to sound in the event of an attack. Sadly most air raid sirens in Canada were removed in the 1990s but some remain due to either the city/town wanting to keep the siren or some sirens were safe when they were hidden behind trees or out of sight so they were missed and not removed.
