British MK6 Crewman Helmet

Historical note: The Mk6 CVC (Combat Vehicle Crewman) helmet was introduced in the late 1970s as part of the British Army's modernization efforts to provide better protection and functionality for armored vehicle crews. Specifically designed for use within tanks and other armored vehicles, the Mk6 CVC helmet built upon lessons learned from earlier helmet designs and the unique needs of crew members operating in confined and noisy environments. e Mk6 CVC helmet was widely issued to British Army armored crews operating main battle tanks (such as the Chieftain, Challenger 1, and later Challenger 2), armored personnel carriers (such as the FV432), and reconnaissance vehicles (like the Scimitar). It became the standard issue during the Cold War era, providing a significant upgrade in crew protection and communication capabilities.
