"Something Doesn't Feel Right" Modern War Vignette

Date: 10/06/17 Location: 5 Clicks West of Horizon Dawn Operation: Strike on the Steppes. A few days after the events of operation Black Sky, the operation was declared a success for the U.S Armed Forces in Afghanistan. A few days after the operation, a small armored unit from the 1st Tank Battalion went missing. A convoy was sent in and found a destroyed technical, a destroyed M1A2 from the unit, and a destroyed Ural with Russian words printed on it. There were no bodies from the Ural or Technical but bodies for the M1A2. None of the USMC units knew what was going on, so a search and rescue team was sent out to find the rest of the unit but never did. Locals say they heard gunfire and explosions, so they huddled up with one another and braced for 30 minutes straight. They never went outside for the rest of the night. The next day when they woke up they said that they found an M1A2 tank destroyed with dead bodies on it, so they sent a messenger to the U.S Armed Forces FOB stationed
